The historic centre of Avignon is also part
of the UNESCO heritage with its Palais des Papes, the cathedral and the Pont d’Avignon.
During our visit through Avignon, we went to visit the Palais des Papes, mainly
because others recommended it and we were curious to see how it is. Before the
visit, you get a tablet and a headset and specific rooms have QR codes which you
can scan and see through the tablet how it used to look. You get a virtual and
a real tour through the castle. They even have some games integrated into the
tour, you have to find hidden clues in these special rooms, and at the end, you
get a treasure. Unfortunately, I don’t remember anymore what we got as a
treasure, but it was something you could transfer to your email address.

At the end of the tour, there was a pretty nice art exhibition. The light in the castle was perfect for the
exhibition.

Before visiting the castle, we visited the
area around the castle, and afterwards, we visited a bit of the city. It was a nice day. I also had for the first time the French crepe.
