We mainly spent the second day exploring
Valletta. The Maltese make yummy pastries, called pastizz. We were lucky to
have a bakery just in the building next door.
After buying our breakfast, we were looking for a quiet place to eat and
discovered a place next to the sea. It looked deserted and we were unsure if we
were even allowed to be there.
After having a nice and quiet breakfast, we
explored the area around and saw a lighthouse. Unfortunately, the bridge was
closed and there was no way getting close to it without trespassing, which we
didn’t. The bridge is called Breakwater Bridge. On the way back we saw the
other side of the city where Fort Tigne is.

Back in Valletta I gave food to more cats,
discovered a place in the city with guards, almost like in Athens. We visited
some churches and strolled around the city without a destination in mind. We
needed to waste time until we had to take a bus back to the airport to pick up
my sister and her partner before renting a car.
The weather was constantly changing as we were
sleeping on park benches - sometimes too warm, sometimes too cold. The last
thing we visited in Valletta was an exhibition on embroidery.
In the evening, we enjoyed the view from the
terrace and explored Mosta a bit, our home for the next three days.
