The travelling day is always short and often
accompanied by the feeling of relaxing and the excitement to be in a new place.
But we were welcomed to the city of Valetta by a cat. I was overly excited
knowing there are so many cats in Malta; thus the first thing I did was to buy
cat food and make sure I have it with me at all times. After settling and
finding food for our hungry bellies, we spent the evening exploring Valetta.

The next day, the plan was to rent an electric
bike and go to the SmartCity. Before going to rent our bikes, we had a nice breakfast in one of the parks in Valletta, where we met more cats, and I photographed some pretty flowers.

After
spending more than half an hour trying to figure out the automatic bike rental
system, we ended up going by bus. D was a bit disappointed, but I was happy
with the decision as Malta barely has any bike lanes, and people are driving
like crazy.
The SmartCity is a technology park build after
Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City. It looked fancy, and the area around
it was beautiful. After exploring the rocks and picking up plastic garbage, we
decided to walk back to Valletta.

First stop was the lovely bay in Kalkara. The
houses are so pretty here, made mainly of limestone with colourful windows and
doors. We enjoyed the view of the bay and observed cannibalism between fish.

Next stop was Vittoriosa and Senglea, both
small and interesting cities. We did not explore them entirely, just saw a bit
of both and continued our trip.

Quite soon, I felt tired and in no mood to
further explore. We got lost and ended up in a not so touristic area of
Senglea, where we met a serene cat. Afterwards, we looked for the closest bus
stop to take us back to Valletta. The evening was uneventful; we went for a
walk through Valletta and witnessed two cats fighting for a piece of bread.
