Kletterpark Spielmäuer

We did another lovely via ferrata path called Tristan in the Kletterpark Spielmäuer. It was one of those days when I had to practice my driving before my driving licence and finish the 1000 km I had to do before being able to do the exam. I don’t remember much of the drive, just that at some point I couldn’t drive anymore and had to switch with Dorian. My friend, Irma, was in the back, but she is always so calm and friendly, so she did not mind so much my not perfect driving. The Kletterpark Spielmäuer offers three options for via ferrata, one really hard, one easy and one in between which is precisely the one we did.  Dorian and Irma liked it a lot, as it goes under an arc somehow entering a cave. I, on the other hand, did not like it so much, many times, the feet were just on some metal bars and nothing else, if one would have been loose you could have quickly fallen. I was happy whenever my feet were back on the rock and not on the metal bars. I think overall is a nice via fer...

Ossiachersee and Burg Landskron

We had a short trip to different places. First, we stopped at a market taking place next to Ossiachersee, then we went swimming in the lake.  Ossiachersee is really lovely, the water does not have a blue colour like Wörthersee, but more blackish colour. The water is nevertheless so clean, and you can see fish swimming around. The next stop was Burg Landskron. Unfortunately, I had no nice photos of the Burg. I took some pictures of their birds of prey and the area around, Villach and Faaker See.

Hochstuhl (2237 m)

My favourite place is always in the mountains. Not only do I feel like I have achieved something when I am on the top, but the views are breathtaking. Austria has a lot of amazing mountains to explore and many via-ferrata paths. After doing a few via-ferrata I find it easier than hiking up a mountain, maybe because you use the entire body and not only your legs. This time we went to Hochstuhl (2237 m) which is on the border between Austria and Slovenia. It was another place we visited because I needed to gain driving experience. I must say it was quite an experience, especially driving a bit through the forest on no pavement to get to the parking spot. D was not too happy with my driving, but considering the road, I think I did ok. [Hochstuhl] The hike started with a bit of tension, it was not clear exactly where the via-ferrata path begins, and I thought we went on the wrong path and had an argument about it. But we did finally found our way there. One a short part of the hike to ...
