Graz never
cease to amaze me. I’ve been in Graz for more than 3 years, and although I think I’ve
explored all of it, there is always something new to discover.
I remember my
first time at Schloss St. Martin…I attended a seminar on how to deal with
difficult people situations. Getting there was actually harder than I imagined
but an exciting adventure, especially when you have to be there on time and
be dressed all nicely for the seminar. But this
visit is not only about Schloss St. Martin, but rather about wandering in the
forest on a path I’ve never been and discovering new things.
Since a few
years ago, the park which leads to Schloss St. Martin is hosting a variety of
different artworks. Interesting to see and read about it.
My favourite
is this one….
But I also like the one with the cow and the zebra.
From
Schloss St. Martin, you can quickly reach several hiking paths through the
forest around. Found an interesting building which most probably belongs to the
school, but looks somewhat abandoned, a place where maybe youngsters come for a
drink and smoke away from teachers eyes.
If you
follow this path at some point you will reach the small church St. Johann and
Paul. The church is beautiful, and the area around it is lovely. You can even book
the church to have a wedding there, which I think is excellent for those who want
to marry far from the busy city.
If you walk in the opposite direction at some
point, you will reach the Rudolfswarte. Until this day, I never knew about this
place. The entire trip was like a surprise, discovering new places.
On the way
back to Schloss St. Martin, you will find a beautiful staircase in the forest, and
many picturesque areas, with sheep and vineyards all around.
