This castle is one of the castles I always wanted to see
after I moved to Austria, because when you look for photos online it just looks
so pretty. Luckily, we decided to finally visit during one of the festivals that
took place here.
Castle Hochosterwitz is a nice example of a medieval fortress and
stronghold, having 14 fortified gates. The castle had its own well, being well
supplied with water in case of a siege. In addition, there is also a small
chapel on the north side of the courtyard.
In the afternoon, I’ve seen a bit of Klagenfurt, the famous Lindwurm
Fountain and the Wörthersee Mandl.
