Venice, Murano and Burano, cats and dogs – Day 2

The second day was mainly for sightseeing and going to Murano and Burano. After a stroll through Venice and a stop at my favourite cafe called Tonolo, and photographing cats and dogs and the pestilence doctor… …we took a boat to Murano. …. just to take another boat to Burano. The day ended a bit earlier, going back to the hotel quite soon and having an early sleep. After two days in Venice on a very hot weather, I am not certain if I prefer seeing Venice in winter or summer. Others say the best time to visit Venice is in autumn, maybe next time I will visit it, will be autumn, who knows.

Venice - Day 1

Venice is one of the places where I don’t mind getting lost. There is so much to see there and whenever you get yourself lost through the small streets you just discover another lovely canal with nice houses and a nice view. Unfortunately, I did not make it for the opening of the Biennale, an event that takes place every 2 years and it includes a lot of art and architecture. The idea of the trip to Venice was to see the opening of this event and spend time with my boyfriend’s mother, who loves this even and joins every time. The day was short, but we saw a baby seagull and saw a lovely sunset. In the evening, we went to some Biennale party organized by the Austrian embassy, it was really nice, a lot of people and a tone of drinks, but little food.

Beseno Castle and Lake Garda

Today was a fabulous day, despite the weather forecast was not that promising. Our first stop for the day was Beseno Castle. I can now say that it is one of my favourite castles. My first impression about the castle was that I will see again some ruins of a castle, but this castle has so much to offer. There are several locations where you can try so many things, like fight a medieval training dummy. …or train your equilibrium …or your skills in archery. And that’s the beginning of the castle only, then it comes many rooms with nice medieval armors and swords, battle grounds… You can walk on the defense walls, which in many castles is not allowed and you can try the armours and swords. That was super awesome. The views from the castle were also amazing, therefore I totally recommend you visit this castle if you ever travel to South of Tyrol. Our next stop for the day was an adventure park, unfortunat...

MUSE, Buonconsiglio Castle and Lago di Serraia

The day started with many clouds and rain. Therefore, no hike day, but instead we made use of our Trentino Card, that gives you free entrance to many castles, museums, natural parks and many more. Our first stop was supposed to be a castle, but because finding a parking spot in Trentino was horrible, the first stop was the MUSE – Science Museum of Trento. They tell you to visit the museum from the upper last floor to the -1 level. The map of the museum looked like this: There is so much to do in that museum, not only learn about the alpine and the region around Trento, or about the many animals they have or the dinosaurs, but also learn about the DNA, including the genetics and the mutations. It was really interesting. I totally recommend it if you ever visit Trento. At the end we were also in a greenhouse where they had many butterflies. Second stop for the day was the Buonconsiglio Castle , built in the 13 th century, today hosting many...
