The castle was build during the 11 th century and it was a place of strategic location for controlling the region of Mura valley north of Graz. Today is just a ruin, where you can have a lovely rest and enjoy the view. There is a small restaurant that is open all year around where you can have a nice cup of coffee and enjoy the view of Graz. A lovely family of cats will welcome you once you reach the castle. Close to the castle there is a path called Jungfernsprung, where you will have a lovely view of the castle, and the Mura valley. The place comes with a legend, one of the daughters of the last family who lived in the castle, Anna von Gösting, jumped to her death after her lover was killed in a duel. Today you can see a cross on a rock named after her. If you decided to walk further, there are several hiking paths that will take you to little adventures and places around Graz.
